1.Amasya Kebab House, 134 Nicholson St, Footscray.
Simple, tasty and comes with a variety of sauces.

2. Lamb’s on Chapel. 394 Chapel St, South Yarra.
Most can’t remember being here. Deserves to have more sober patrons.

3. Souvlaki Bar, 163 Russell Street. City.
One of the first in Melbourne. Still is up there and a great way to finish the night.

4. Lambs on Brunswick, 314 Brunswick St.
Get them to wrap your kebab in a lamb pizza for the ultimate alcohol mopper.

  • Souva King on Brunswick is better than Lambs on Brunswick I reckon

  • Souva King is quite good but how bout Stalactytes? Surely that’s an institution that can’t be left off any top Kebab list.

  • Wrap Shack on Swan St, next to the Richmond Club. Don’t forget the best potato cakes as well!

  • Stallectites, head and shoulders!
    Lambs – highly over rated.
The one near the corner of Smith and Gertrude St – very honourable mention!

  • I can’t believe no-one’s mentioned the best Kebabs in Melbourne.

    Ali.

The guy who used to be on the corner of Doncaster & Middleborough (?) roads with his trailer.

He’s now on Mitcham Road at the servo, forget the name of it.

Doesn’t hold a candle to the place on the corner in Kings X, but it’s as good as they get.

  • kebabs and sauces on burwood rd hawthorn is the best. $5 kebabs all day monday and wednesday

  • Real Greek Souv on Brunskick st, Opposite SouvaKing. Its licenced too and has a function room upstairs!

Ulyssies or however you spell it high st northcote!

  • Souva King has got to be one of the most consistenty tasty kebaba in town. Especially after a skinful of Fitzroy Pub beers. The King’s Trophy is the finest kebab I have ever had. Double meat / double bread. Heaven.

I do also enjoy the kebab caravans – something alluring about them. Kinda like the Gelati vans when I was a kid. When I heard their crappy music in the distance I just had to get some coin off mum so I can have one… Maybe that’s what the kebab vans are missing – dodgy music. I also like they quality names of the vans. Such as “Happy Kebab”. Gold I tell you!!!

  • Definitely the best kebab is at Cafe Umut located on High St, Preston. $6.50 for the finest kebab I have had. I have had kebabs at about 25-30 different places in Melbourne over the years and Cafe Umut serves the greatest.

  • the nice kebab i had was one in cranburne for $5 monday and tuesday ………….. dose anyone know the other best kebabs around maybe for $5 or so

  • souvlaki bar on russell st or now its kings kebabs apparently will be changing the name to russell souvlaki bar soon is the best place ive been to so far. ALI’S kebab on doncaster or mitcham now ive been inside his van and its terrible inside has lettuce everywere its so dirty i couldnt believe it i reckon they should shut him up.

  • yeah ive been too kings kebabs lately and i reckon there pretty good they also are very friendly. I recommend.

  • There is a great one in Northcote, High ST. Name escapes me. Anyone?

  • Stalactites is the go for a late night lamb sandwich it’s open 24/7. And Oasis bakery on North Rd in Oakleigh make Turkish shawarmas (same thing) too bad they are only open during the day. And I agree, lambs on Brunswick is overrated, the bread is too thick. And lambs on Chapel use pretty average meat

  • Souv kings the best in town.

Stay away from Hollywood palace. went there late one night had a souv then a piss. The guy who had just made my souv came out of the cubicle and walked out without washing his hands and went on making kebabs.
